Learning Objectives
To provide the basic knowledge and competence for the professional practice of Geologist in the field of water resources, urban planning, engineering works and risk prevention.

Geological risks: hazard, vulnerability and exposure. Principles of basin hydrology and river hydraulics: hydrological cycle, hydrogeological basin, measurement and processing of hydrological data, hydrograph, flood forecasting and mitigation. Fluvial dynamics: fluvial processes, erosion, transport and sedimentation. Hydraulic works: basin and fluvial restoration, river banks and levees, dams. Rock and soils properties and engineering use: rocks as engineering materials. Geology of engineering works: foundations, transport infrastructures (roads and railways), tunnels and underground works . Elements of environmental legislation: national and regional laws on environment and geological problems
